Commercial Solar & Battery Storage

Cut your electricity costs with power generated on your own roof

Grid electricity is one of the biggest and least controllable costs a business faces. Commercial solar changes that: you generate a large share of your own power on-site, at a price that undercuts the grid and doesn't move with the market — bought outright, or fully funded at zero upfront cost through a Power Purchase Agreement.

Option 1: Fully funded solar

Solar energy without the upfront investment

Under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the entire system is funded, installed, and maintained at no cost to your business. You simply buy the electricity it generates — at a rate below what you currently pay your supplier, fixed and predictable for the term of the agreement.

How it works

  1. 1

We survey, fund, supply, and install

A solar system designed around your building and consumption — panels, inverters, and battery storage where it adds value. You pay nothing towards the equipment or installation.

  2. 2

You buy the power it generates

At an agreed rate per kWh that's lower than your grid price — so you save from the first day of generation.

  3. 3

Anything you don't use is exported

Surplus generation goes to the grid and is sold at the market rate.

  4. 4

    Maintenance is included

Cleaning, monitoring, and upkeep are handled for the life of the agreement — peak performance is our problem, not yours.

What happens at the end of the term?

You stay in control throughout. At the end of the agreement you can typically:

  • Buy the system for a nominal sum — often as little as £1 — and own the generation outright
  • Extend the agreement at the existing rate, then take ownership
  • Negotiate a new agreement
  • Have the system removed

Selling the building or changing tenants?

The agreement can transfer to the new owner or occupant at the same rate — and a building that comes with cheaper on-site electricity is a genuine selling point. Alternatively, you can buy the system at the age-adjusted price and include it in the sale.

Option 2: Outright purchase

Invest capital, keep 100% of the benefit

If you'd rather buy, we design, install, and commission your system as a straightforward purchase. You own the asset, all the generated power, and all the export income from day one — typically the strongest long-term return, with payback often well inside the system's 25+ year working life.

We'll model both routes side by side so you can compare the numbers on your actual consumption, not a generic example.

Why add battery storage?

Solar generates when the sun shines — not always when you consume. Battery storage captures your surplus daytime generation and releases it when you need it. We'll assess whether storage stacks up for your consumption profile and include it only where it genuinely improves the return.

A higher share of self-consumed power

Less bought from the grid, more of your generation used on-site.

Solar power after dark

Stored energy covers evening and early-morning demand.

Protection from peak-rate charges

Draw from the battery instead of the grid during expensive periods.

Beyond the bill

The benefits beyond cheaper electricity

Predictable energy costs

A large share of your consumption at a known rate, insulated from wholesale market swings.

A better EPC rating

On-site generation can materially improve your building's Energy Performance Certificate, which matters more every year as MEES minimum standards tighten for commercial property.

Lower carbon emissions

Measurable CO₂ reductions for your ESG reporting, tenders, and sustainability commitments.

Increased property value

Buildings with low-cost, low-carbon energy are more attractive to buyers and tenants.

Energy independence

Less exposure to the grid, price shocks, and standing charge increases.

A platform for what's next

EV charging, energy monitoring, and further efficiency measures all build naturally on a solar foundation.

How the process works

From enquiry to generation

From enquiry to proposal typically takes days, not weeks — and under the funded route, your total upfront cost from start to finish is zero.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Most commercial roofs are — pitched or flat. The key factors are roof space, condition, orientation, and your electricity consumption. Ground-mounted arrays and solar carports are also options where roof space is limited. The desktop survey answers this quickly and for free.
